TEAM LEVEL
Each run of the team level requires two dog/handler pairs. A pair will
always refer to one dog and one handler.
The dog/handler pair can compete in Team Levels for Novice Team, Advanced
Team, Excellent Team and Versatility Team. The title designations shall appear
after the dog’s name on the CARO title certificate.
RNT CARO Rally Novice Team
RAT CARO Rally Advanced Team
RXT CARO Rally Excellent Team
RVT CARO Rally Versatility Team
1. There is no distinction between A and B in the Team levels. Both A and
B level dogs may compete together in TEAM
2. Handlers may enter their teammate’s name on the trial entry form, and
the trial secretary will match lone handlers together.
If there is an odd number of pairs, a bye-pair will be used. This bye-pair may be a volunteer pair not originally entered in the team level, or one pair may run a second time. If a pair runs a second time, it must run a different section of the course than it ran previously and is not eligible to qualify on the second run.

3. Dogs must have earned their individual title at each level before entering
Team. For example, a dog must have earned their RN title before entering
Rally Team Novice. This means that dog/handler pairs may not compete concurrently
for their individual Rally Novice title (A/B) and Rally Team Novice title.
Dog/handler pairs may compete concurrently for their C level individual titles
and Team titles.
4. Team qualifying scores do not count towards C Level titles.
5. The minimum ring size for team must be 40 X 50 (or the equivalent 2000
square feet) No exceptions will be granted.
6. Three qualifying scores of 180 are required from 2 different judges in
order to complete the title. The two pairs are scored as a whole, with the
deductions accumulated by one pair added to those by the second pair. If
the total number of points deducted is more than 20, the team does not qualify.
7. Maximum course time is 3 minutes.
8. Courses may be nested with the regular classes, but must be substantially
different, so as to not provide an advantage to any competitor entering the
regular class.
9. Sides will be decided before the walk through.
10. Walk through times are the same as Stream C. One 2 minutes walk through
for each 10-12 teams of dog/handler pairs. E.g. If 10 teams of dog/handler
pairs, one 2 minute walk through. If 13-20, TWO separate walk through groups
to be divided equally. E.g. 16 pairs of dog/handlers would have two groups
of 8 paired teams.
11. All Team courses will have 20 stations including Start and Finish. Each
dog/handler pair will complete 10 stations.
12. Pair 1 will complete stations 1 through 10. Pair 2 will complete stations
11 through 20.
13. Both dogs will enter the ring at the same time on leash. For Novice,
both pairs will be on leash for the entire course.
Dog/handler pair 1 will wait at the Start while Pair 2 proceeds to Station 11. The ring steward will bring the leash from the start to Station 10 for Pair 1. This will be done before the beginning of the run.
Pair 2 may carry their leash in a concealed manner to the finish as they complete stations 11 through 20, may leave a second leash at the Finish sign, or may wait at the Finish sign for a steward to bring them their leash.
