Wins & Brags for the Year 2010

simon

A few years ago when we first started to do CARO rally trials, Simon (Christycrest It’s Simply Simon) earned his Novice title CL. In November 2010 doing the Novice Team title we were at The Poodle Farm, and at the age of 10 ¾, Simon earned 2 scores of 196 each along with a 2nd (&4th) place out of 10 teams entered. On December 5 at the SuperDog Central in Bowmanville, on “his” part of the Novice Team entry, he completed a “perfect” run!
I am so very proud of you Simon, you have earned your retirement!

Hello
I thought I would send along Stella with her ribbons. She had 2 first places today with scores of 195 and 199. We had so much fun!
She got her novice title today at the Poodle Farm in Vanessa Ontario.

This is Stella's first title as we have just begun obedience with CARO Rally.

Karin Beeler is proud to announce that her Newfoundland dog, Frieda earned her rally excellent title in the spring of 2010 at the Pawsitive Steps trial in Prince George, B.C..
Frieda has done some impressive weave pole work at the excellent level. Thanks to judge Barb Wright for awarding this fourth excellent leg. (Frieda already had three legs under another judge).
Not too many Newfoundlands compete at this level of CARO rally obedience.

autumn When Autumn came to me she was almost three, had been kennelled most of her life, had serious ear and teeth problems from neglect, very weak muscle tone, and was terrified of walls for some reason. I started training her in rally in hopes of boosting her confidence. It seems to have worked. She got her title in three trials, two with perfect scores. We got too close to a wall in the third trial and had to redo a station, so she still has some baggage to work through, but we're getting there. Special thanks to Bonnie Christie for all her help and encouragement.

wiebe At the April CARO trial at Partners Naturally in Grande Prairie, Alberta, our dogs Johnny (Dachshund) and Becka (Doberman) finished their Rally Novice Team title under Judge Jeanne Shaw with a first place win and a score of 199. The team went on to pass the first leg of their Advanced Team title with a perfect 200. Proud owners are Lindy Wiebe, with Johnny, and Caitlin Rathburn with Becka.
Lucy, my Pembroke Welsh Corgi, finished her Novice title MCL with a High in Trial at the April CARO trial at Partners Naturally in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Lucy is owned and loved by Lindy Wiebe. Thanks to judge Jeanne Shaw for making the weekend fun and successful for all the participants! lucy

elliott I am very proud that in our first two runs in Novice Team, Elliott and I, and our team partners Janice Bain and Nikki the Shetland Sheepdog, having just met the day of competition, earned 2 perfect 200 scores and placed 2nd and 1st. This is especially meaningful for Elliott, as it was his first return to competition in over a year, after having had cruciate surgery in early 2009. Thank you to Rat Pack Dog Sports for providing a day of fun and friendly competition. Mary Monteith and Elliott, English Springer Spaniel

I wanted to take a moment to write to you regarding the trial held in Georgetown, ON.
It was my first Caro Rally – Novice Division. What a wonderful experience for my dog Ellie and I. We did all three competitions and passed with flying colours obtaining our Caro Rally Title eligibility. The organizers of this day did a wonderful job of keeping things organized, and flowing smoothly, even with a minor flooding in the bathroom. They were all friendly and encouraging to all competitors.

The two judges for the day Kelly Morrow and Bonnie Christie made everyone feel welcome and relaxed. Most importantly they provided an environment made for fun. Everyone is so positive and encouraging to each other. I want to thank everyone involved for a wonderful day……
