After careful thought and discussion, the Board of Directors has three rule clarifications and one rule amendment to share with you:
Rule Amendment:
Due to safety concerns, Sign 202 – Dog Circles Left will no longer be included in the Intermediate level.
This change will apply to all course maps submitted for approval after 1 October 2025.
Rule Clarification #1:
If a team performs a spin while heeling between stations, it is considered an out of position deduction, not an NQ. However, a spin performed as an unrequired position during a stationremains an NQ as per section 3.1 of the 2025 Rally Handbook.
Rule Clarification #2:
In Working, if a dog spins on the way to the dog box, it is an NY. If a dog spins while completing cone stations (Barrel Racing and Around the Clock, it is fine, as long as they are doing the correct pattern.
Rule Clarification #3:
When nesting courses, 50% of station signs must be swapped out or change location from one map to the next within the same level.
(Example: If there are 16 stations in a course, including Start & Finish, 8 stations must be changed.)
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to email the Board at board@canadianrallyo.ca.
Thank you for helping us maintain clarity and consistency in CARO Rally!
