Wins & Brags for the Year 2005

September 21st 2005

cats-cradleCat’s Cradle’s Phoenix became the first Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog to receive a Rally-O title in Canada, and according to our research, in the entire world!
Owned by Donna Hennyey, Phoenix is a red leopard, natural bobtail with double glass eyes (that means ice blue, not really “glass”!) and is currently working toward his Rally Advanced title.
Catahoulas are an air-scenting breed, which means they will take the shortest, most direct route to the source of the scent. In Rally-O, that route usually does not include the exercise stations between the point at which Phoenix first catches the scent of food and the food bowl station, so it may be a while before he gains his Rally Advanced title!
One leg down, two to go!
I am attaching a picture of my three shelties with their CARO ribbons they have earned. They are, left to right, 12 years of age (just finished novice), 15 years of age (novice title, one advanced leg), 4 year old with his Excellent title. Thanks so much for a fun sport that they can all enjoy. We are looking forward to attempting Versatility. - Sylvia Reeve cutter

August 2005

Hello What a hot summer 2005 has been. At our Trial in Pembroke we kept the dogs wet to stay cool. Our judge Darlene was a real trooper to stay with us all day. She is a credit to the sport! Cricket ( age 12) managed to get another Excellent leg with a score of 190.
Thanks Darlene and Thanks to Mike Brown for the great pictures!

;January 22 2005 News about Rally in Kitchener

Aim Hi hosted the 1st Annual Rally Ho Ho event on Dec 30, 2004. Linda Barton, along with Anne Douglas, Kelly Morrow and Bonnie Christie offered a day of active learning for 25 Rallyers. Kelly's 'attitude activity' kept everyone engaged in the spirit of Rally!
And there was a spirit of generosity. Many thanks to Ellie Ross of Wag N Train for donating the day in her comfortable facility and the soft-sided crate, leash and food prizes, to Dog Sport for a subscription prize and all the give-aways, and to all those who supported the Rally O raffle. We raised $120 for a Pet Trust Donation
